Titans @ Chargers game thread

They beat us up without their first four wide receivers. This would have been embarrasing if they'd been full strength. I just don't get it, WHY can't we beat this f***ing team?!

 

Tolbert and Rivers killed us. The offense played pretty well. The drop by CJ was inexcusable. Hope VY is not hurt too bad. At least we have the bye week.

 

Collins threw a damn laser for a 5 yard pass as well!!! The bomb to washington before the last play was the dumbest playcall/decision to do! We had plenty of time to get 15 yards and get in the endzone with one timeout!!

 

Our D Line gets 0 pressure without blitzing. Should have made the trade for Haynesworth. Hopefully Brown is back soon. The D Line has been overrated all year. They get no push at all like we have in the past. I would almost bet 90% of our sacks this year have been when we blitzed.

In today's game, over pursuit of the QB on screen passes lost us the game. They converted way too many easy 3rd downs due to no one covering the back or TE on screen passes.

 

Screens are an obvious weakness to the Titans and I wonder why they overpursue when they could not do anything with the Chargers offensive line.

 

We had some bad luck in this one with the injuries to key guys and then Nickey's stupid penalty. But this loss is mostly on the D. Our bend but don't break defense broke... and broke... and broke. And we still can't stop a damn screen pass to save our life. It's pathetic really.

 

We will never beat the Chargers with Rivers at QB. Simple as that.

Third time in the last four meetings with the Chargers that we have absolutely blown the game. We like to go up 17-3 in the 4th quarter, 6-0 at halftime, and 19-7 in the 2nd quarter and blow each game.

I was more disappointed with the way we played against the run. Inexcusable, really. This team is a pass happy team, unbalanced, and predictable team. We managed to turn them into a balanced, unpredictable, and unstoppable team.

I Hope someone takes care of this team because we definitely won't beat them in the playoffs. Thank God the Chiefs and Raiders won today.

And FFS we have to find a way to get the run game going more consistently. CJ has less than 70 yards rushing in 4/8 games this season. And less than 60 in 3/8.
