What in the hell are you talking about? Eddie George was drafted because we traded up to get him. Ben Troupe was picked by trading back. Jared Cook and SenDerrick Marks were acquired by moving up. Ruston Webster said just last night there's a possibility we will trade up in round 2 if we don't have to give up too much. Are you just angry that we got Wright?
I wanted to start a new thread saying trade up for Upshaw, but stating it here is enough. I do think we should trade up (just don't use future year picks) because there are worthy players available at the top of the 2nd.
I like upshaw and some others that will likely go early in the 2nd, but not sure if moving up for them would be worth the cost (depending what it is of course)
Dude, how many years ago was that, any clue? I'm talking recent history. I recall Troupe being our first pick that year since we traded our first for Kevin Carter, but I could be confusing years. Cook was traded for a future pick, so that's not really trading up working with your current draft and picks. You're really slow if you actually believe trading up or down or working the draft is something the Titans do. You pointed out like 4 moves over the last what, 12 years... Wow, great points. No, I'm not upset with the Wright pick, I've said I think he's a really good player. However I think there were better options on the board, but obviously their board is much different than mine.
Trading up is definitely not a trend of ours, but we did trade up for Cook (and gave up too much). I see it as a very realistic possibility here. I won't hold my breath, but you can bet we'll be making calls to, at the least, attempt to move up.
That's a good way to put it; trading up/down is not a trend of ours. Leveraging future picks is one of the worst things a franchise can do in my book, so in that trade we really did give up too much.
