I still surprises me that fans don't seem to fully grasp the idea that the NFL schedule is generated by a strict formula and the league has absolutely zero ability to manipulate it.

Because coincidences that happen multiple times like that are harder to believe than the NFL distorting things.

Knowing our history on the west coast this could have been a disaster playing both West divisions. This article shows the home and away:

We only end up having to go out west twice, Oakland and Seattle. We get San Francisco, San Diego and Arizona (close enough to the coast) at home. Would have been great if we had KC on the road instead of Oakland. We also get Denver on the road which means Manning will not be coming to Nashville to play in the regular season. Will be nice.

Ok tell me how Pittsburgh got easiest schedule after winning Superbowl. How the Colts would always face NE every year when Peyton was there. I'm sorry there's no team we have faced every year that's not in our division.

Who made the formula? Who hired the people to make the formula?

    Whatever you say boss.

Because they got to play the Browns and Bengals twice... and that has a lot of weight on their schedule.

Our schedule last season was supposedly the 5th easiest even though we played the Pats, Steelers, Texans twice, Lions, and Packers. Why? Because we played the Colts and Jags twice.
