For the benefit of the future of the team, I would have no problem trading him for a 3rd and maybe even a 4th. Ruston's 3rd and 4th round picks: Mike Martin (rotational guy most people here love), Coty Sensabaugh (starting nickle back, beat out Verner for the spot), Jurell Casey (One of the best players on our defense), and Colin McCarthy (A beast when healthy). Verner was taken in the 4th the year before. Now I will admit that middle rounds were worth less than squat with Fisher/Reinfeldt, but I definitely Truston Ruston to turn those middle rounds into productive players.

I don't know how close it ever was to happening or not happening.....you don't either. They were going after Amendola and Welker at the time as well, so a lot was going on. They didn't get either of those guys, if they had, then who knows. I don't know exactly what Webster was doing at the time, but they were attempting to move him, and that doesn't happen very often.

They're not as in love with him as you'd like to think.

    Please deal in facts, Deuce.

It was widely reported that the Titans shopped Nate in the offseason. That's reality, not something fans made up.

You never shop a player unless you are willing to trade him. If it leaks, it can forever sour the relationship between the team and player. Heck, some reports said it almost did for the Titans and Nate.

They did shop him. For a very short time.

Then you guys latched on to that as if it was a definite thing. Like they were adamant about getting Nate off the team.

    Not the case.

Read my posts. Only thing I've said is that 1) we know they shopped him; 2) now could be an opportunistic time to trade him.

Frankly, I don't recall anyone saying/implying the Titans were "adamant about getting Nate off the team," but I may have missed it. Or you may have imagined it.

    They were definitely rampant here.

Even after he was off the trade block, fans here acted like getting Nate off the team was top priority.

    Dey stupid.
