    Let's face it, if Ledger wouldn't have died, Dark Knight wouldn't have been nearly as big as it was, and TDKR would not have the hype if Ledger were in it, and still alive.

    A star dying is the best publicity for movies and music.

    No comparison IMO.

    Hype was way bigger for TDK... even most women have seen it. It's one of those movies you assume everyone has seen.

    Avengers doesn't have that - and it's nowhere near as good of a movie as TDK.

    Transformers 3 is up there too.

    Can't judge movies solely off how they did at the box office. Plus R rated movies - which are pretty much always superior - are excluded from the list because of a smaller audience.
