Hey... I'm not a fan of Opry Mills. I go there maybe 3 times a year, and it's always at someone else's request. I just recalled how you said it would be closed for "a week or two", but it will be closed an entire year.

Must not have been that bad? Yea right... the 9th biggest mall in the US is closed for an entire year. That should hint that the flood was a pretty vicious one.

Either way, Gaylord can suck it.

It's really the 9th biggest? What a waste... there's nothing in it that can't be found down the street.

fwiw, you look like an idiot again with your comments on the area floods and New Orleans. Congrats.

It was the 9th biggest at least a few years ago. I can't find anything that says what rank it is, so I'm not positive. It may not be that high up on the list anymore. I'm sure some cities have managed to out-do it by now.

And there are actually quite a few places in Opry Mills that you can't find just anywhere (other than just IMAX).

    (stuff that comes to mind):
    Apple Barn
    The Aquarium
    Bass Pro
    Dave & Buster's
    Nike Factory
    Rainforest Cafe

I could honestly care less about any of the stores/places in the mall with the exception of the IMAX and Bass Pro, but there are several places that can't be found down the street.

I'm not in any way a fan of Opry Mills, I wish it had stayed an amusement park. Only worthwhile thing is the IMAX.

That being said, it's amazing that something that big got shut down for an entire year. By itself, that's a big economic impact.

No one goes to the Apple Barn really though, do they? Nike Outlet... you can get anything there at the surrounding 200 sports stores. Dave and Busters - there are more of them in Nashville. Aquarium and Rainforest Cafe are unique for the first time. Then you get past the gimmick and the food isn't worth going back. Bass Pro Shops = stuff you can get anywhere, just the even more hillbilly wal-mart.

OpryLand Hotel on facebook just added some more pictures showing the results after the water drained. It's pretty crazy. Check it out.

I know. I was just naming stuff that's there that are little to none of in Nashville.

You're right. No one goes to the Apple Barn. I've never stepped foot in there. I've only been to Dave and Busters twice. That place was better when it was Jillian's. Aquarium is horrendous. Rainforest Cafe was good... when I was in 5th grade. Bass Pro is alright though. I'm not some hardcore redneck or anything (in fact, I'm the opposite), but they've got tons of stuff there.

Yeah, I'm not in to fishing or anything.

They need to add something to Opry Mills to make it unique. Something entertaining... other than the theater and Dave+Busters.

I'd agree with that, but realistically, I have no clue what they could add.
