I don't know if it's just me, but Tommie Campbell looked far better in coverage than ATV tonight. I have been really discouraged about the enigmatic Campbell the first two preseason games, but when I watched him in 1 on 1 coverage with Julio Jones he absolutely handled him in press coverage every time they were lined up together and JJ didn't have a catch while Campbell was in coverage. ATV held his own well and I think was called for a few penalties he didn't deserve, but vs Tommie JJ never had the chance to be called for anything. I think ATV is way better served as a Nickel so he can ball hawk and utilize his great ability to tackle in the open field.

Additionally, Cody Sens looked miles better than JMac did tonight. I don't know what's up with JMac lately. He's always been a great corner but he seems to be making mental mistakes or having lapses.

--Damn did that D-Line look monsterous tonight.

A lot of those times Tommy jammed Julio up happened because we were in cover two. It's easy to sell out on jamming a guy if you know you don't have to cover him after. I think ATV played very well. He had a couple of bad penalties called against him and minus that fade to Julio he definitely held his own. ATV should get the start but we should definitely hold on to Tommy, there might be something there.

Campbell has a chance next week, but he is going to have to play lights out.

Verner was simply outmatched by Juliuo Jones. I agree that the interference call on the slant was picky how can we say he played well when he got beat most of the time?

We honestly don't have a CB who can cover somebody like that so we have to provide safety help on top.

First - being outmatched by Julio Jones is going to happen 13 out of 16 games.

So let's not be hard on ATV here who held his own very well vs JJ considering the size/speed mismatch.

And J-Mac looks great vs elite talent, yeah?

To have had the pressure- or lack of, we've had the past few seasons, both have done stellar.

I might have to re-watch but I disagree. Julio might have won the biggest battle (big pass) but Verner won the war. I think Verner won most of the snaps it's just that when you get beat deep people forget about that. This is the same Julio Jones who absolutely demolished Richard Sherman in the playoffs and most people on here worship Sherman as a deity. Verner played well.
