While they're at it they should send us Jonathan Joseph.

I think some of you guys are way overrating Ryans. He hasn't been all that effective for a few years now. This trade really shows what the Texans think of him (and who would know better than them?).

"Ryans played only 58.23 percent of the Texans' defensive plays last season, a year after he missed the Texans’ final 10 games following shredding an Achilles tendon.

Darryl Sharpton was cutting into Ryans’ snaps before he missed the final eight games of last season after suffering a right knee/hamstring injury.

Sharpton was a fourth-round draft pick out of Miami in 2010. If he’s healthy, Sharpton is a young player the team will feel comfortable plugging in this fall beside Brian Cushing on base defense downs.

The move doesn’t do anything to alleviate the team’s cap issues. It will actually cost Houston $750,000 this year. While Ryans was due the large base salary, he had $9 million left of a pro-rated signing bonus that moves to this year with the trade. He will be off the Texans' books next year.'

He was hurt most of 2010. And last year he seemed to have suffered from the switch to the 3-4. I believe the guy can still play at a very high level. Great deal for the Eagles. And even if they are wrong and he's done they didn't really lose anything of significant value. Very low-risk, high-reward scenario.

Some guys are just much more effective in a 4-3 than a 3-4, or vice versa.

    I am confused......

Was not Ryans the best of their core? I could have sworn after Cushing was caught with PED's in his system his game took a decline?

Cushing had his best year last season. He's the best of the bunch.

Looks like his rookie year was the best but still a solid season. Just goes to show you how much I keep up with the Cows.

I doubt that the Texans would have let him go like this to a divisional rival.
    FWIW I think he'll be awesome in Philly's 4-3.

The Texans had agreat D last season but the new 3-4 scheme didn't suit Ryans or Williams.
