Super Bowl or Olympics?

Very true. I think it is that way for all sports. America is one of the few countries that makes such a big deal of pro sports and make them some of the highest payed people in the world. So this makes our athletes dream of going pro and not olympic. It's all about the money, at least thats what we are taught from childhood.

Soccer, World Cup final.

15 million or so are estimated to see the Tour de France as live spectators. Hard to get that many in a stadium.

 

Gold medal. You train for 4 years for the moment and only have one shot at it. You stuff up, you're done. No chance for a 4th quarter comeback in most Olympic sports.
And it is pretty much you and you yourself who earns it (at least in individual sports).

I wouldn't be upset with either though.
