Well I defintely agree with your last statement. The days of the "feature back" are dead and gone. A guy like Andre Williams, Carlos Hyde, or Tre Mason would be a great fit here. Mason will likely be a first round pick though.

Like I said in my post, which included Morris, mid round is 4th to un-drafted. Murray who is always hurt, along with Charles who has been hurt, and Gore who has been hurt were all 3 round running backs. Which we don't have this year. We cant use a top 2 round pick on a RB. Too many other needs. Round 4 on is too risky to hit one. Plus they have to stay healthy which is hard for them to do. A reason why cj stays healthy is because he knows when is isn't getting anymore yards and goes down easy. He understands he is 200 lbs and wont run over a LB so he goes down to save his body. It one of the reasons why he has never missed a game in 6 years. I can guarantee there is not a single other starting RB that has not missed a game in 6 years.

Plus I would take CJ over Gore, Ryan Matthews and Demarrco Murray. They get hurt to easy and Gore is old. The last thing we need is to have only Shonne Greene in our back field. He will take us all the way to another top 15 pick

I would really like to see what CJ could do with a creative OC. CJ still has elite speed, and I think he could kill a D if used right. Really just need to get him out in space and use a lot of misdirection with him IMO.

That's because he's so damn expensive we couldn't take the cap hit to cut him or sign anyone half way decent to replace him.

If Zimmer came here, wonder who is OC would be and what he thinks of CJ.

That's not the point. The point is he is a durable back and hasn't missed due to injury.

Frank Gore didn't play much in college, his age deceives him, he has plenty more gas in the tank. And Frank Gore is an every down RB, CJ is a scat back.

CJ is a running back that has totaled over 1000 six straight years. He will also be our running back again next year. Our FO understands that with a OC that can use him correctly, he is a top 5-7 back in the league.
