Cjs playmaker ability is far from consistent. That's what we paid him for. Consistent playmaker.

If he made big explosive plays like they were normal (he use to) no one would argue about keeping him. But he doesn't. He catches lightening every once in awhile and makes a play. Can you sit and say him getting 15 touches for 30 yards is worth that? Or would you gut the defense that's kept us in every game?

    Sproles... 4 years - 14 million
    Bush... 4 years -16 million
    Johnson...4 years - 53.5 million. 30 million guaranteed.

No. He's not worth the money. Lol

Locker is serviceable, but he can't stay on the field. Gave a great effort on Sunday, but he wasn't enough. No way I would move forward with Locker being the only "playmaker" on the team. He is too inaccurate of a passer (think Brady, Manning) and not enough of a runner (think Wilson, Kap, RGIII) for that. He's perfect if you have a real playmaker or 2 (TE, RB) on O. He can't be THE man. No way.

He has not made the volume plays the team needs him to make. But, playmakers need to be put in position to make plays. That is the sole job of the coaches at this level: create situations where you put playmakers in position to make plays. When CJ is in space, he makes plays. How often is CJ given the opportunity to make a play in space? How often do they set up screens for him? Draw plays? Wheel routes, options? Before we say CJ isn't worth the salary, let's look at how he is being used, which is not about CJ, but about coaching.

The question in cutting him would be where would the playmaking come from? Greene? Locker? Wright? What have these players shown that would justify cutting CJ and relying on them to make plays?

Your O-line is very important, but not every RB can take it 80 yds like CJ can, even with a hall of fame O-line. That is the point I'm making. CJ is playmaker. Not every 4th rd. RB can do the things he can. His skill set is not replaceable, but he needs the right scheme to make plays. Unfortunately, the Titans have not put in the best position to do so.

You know what sustains drives? Hint: it's not explosive plays. It's consistent 4 yards per carry. Need an example? Go watch us get run over by SF. Give me Gore and I'll make a star outta wright and any elusive 5'8 sub 200 LB back.

The more legitimate weapons a team has the more those weapons produce and the harder they are to defend. Both Locker and Wright would be worse off with CJ gone. CJ is underproducing due to many reasons but we are in no way better off without him. IMO Wimbley and Stewart have played much worse and are expendable. Hopefully cutting them and trimming a little more fat will allow us to resign Pito, Pollard, Vern etc.

I don't need a 4th round guy to take it to the house. I need a 4th round guy to give me consistent yards. And I'll use some no body as a screen/passing attack. This isn't that hard to do. And I won't pay them 10 million combined, hell I won't pay them 5 million combined. And since CJ has to have the most elite O line to be a playmaker, I'll spend the extra money I saved by switching to gieco to add more talent to the scheme instead of relying on someone who's reliant on others.

1 guy takes 10 percent of our cap. Is reliant on 5-6 other guys to be amazing so he can be amazing... But hinders the ability to spend the money needed to shine.

2 guys. Who arnt amazing, but serviceable/consistent and cheap. Less than 2 percent of the cap. Now 8% goes to raising the overall talent on the TEAM, so they look better... Cuz you gotta have that team right? It's a team sport and egotistical, greedy, over abundant contracts hold back the team.

That's my point. He doesn't make plays on his own anymore. So how can you carry a playmaker title?

Is it Gore, or is it the scheme, Kap, A. Bouldin, and V. Davis, all of which are way better than what the Titans could counter with on O. I would argue that Gore benefits more from the scheme and the other weapons than what he gives. For all for the talk, Gore only had 70 yds on 24 carries (2.9 YPC). SF was able to pound with Gore because they knew on 3rd Down, Kap would make a play, and he did, consistently. And you want to cut CJ to resign three on the players on the D that couldn't stop Kap from shredding them on 3rd down?
