QB Billy Volek Released By Chargers

    I remember the incident well and was pissed because i wanted Volek to play here instead of Collins.I've often wondered if things might've been different if Volek had not been traded but stayed here and played well.I remember when we first got Collins just having this real bad feeling that Collins would suck and that happened for the most part except maybe 2008 when the whole team seemed poised to win it all but fell short.I think 2008 might've been the one year Collins play wasn't subpar.

    Volek had his moments, but he wasn't a franchise QB. Still better than Collins ever was tho, but thats not saying much.

    I think he could have been a very good journeyman/transitional QB. Sort of like Garcia or Testaverde.

    His incident with Fisher cost him his NFL career.

    Honestly, after VY was drafted, Billy knew he only had one year to play here. He was so pissed at Fisher cause he knew that Fisher blew his best opportunity to sign as a starter elsewhere.

    Oh you mean right before the preseason ended and Fisher said we would have a competition, best man wins? And Volek went 1 for 1 with an 80 yard td. Then Fisher cried to the media about how mean Volek was and how he was a liar?

    Yeah I remember that.
