Here are my keys to the game and my prediction, enjoy:

Titans Key Players to Watch For A Big Game:
    Vince Young
    Travis Henry
    Michael Roos
    Pacman Jones
    Keith Bulluck
    Chris Hope

    Titans Keys For A Win:
    1) Establish The Run- If Titans are to win, controlling the clock and keeping the ball out of Peyton Manning’s hands is vital.

    2) Make Sure The Colts Respect Vince Young- An important factor if the Titans want a successful offense is to make sure the Colts not only respect Vince’s passing ability, but the threat of his running ability.

    3) Bend but Don’t Break on Defense- Against the young Titans defense Peyton Manning may get his numbers. They do not, however, have to allow him to score a lot, which means making big stops and playing excellent in the redzone.

    Titans Offense:
On offense the Titans need to have a big game from the running game. This means Travis Henry (who last time had 123 yards on 19 attempts) and LenDale White will need to be in fine form and be ready to grind the ball maybe over 40 times in the game. Also in the Titans passing game the receivers must be prepared to catch the ball on 3rd downs. We probably won’t pass the ball much, but expect a very efficient game from Vince if the Titans are to win. On the line Michael Roos will have to display a great effort against Dwight Freeney, last time he played Freeney he did a good job and allowed no sacks, but received three penalties. The line will look to have combined a good game against the smaller Indy defensive line, which is key to a good running game. Another thing to expect is about three or four trick plays during the game, if the Titans can execute at least two of the plays successfully it can mean points on the board.

    Titans Defense:
This game will be braniac vs. braniac- meaning QB Peyton Manning vs. Titans defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz. Last time Schwartz’s game plan was excellent versus Manning, he gave Manning (Manning finished 20 of 31 for 166 yards, two td’s, and one int.) many looks and did many different things resulting the Colts offense only scoring 14 points in the game, an unusually low number for the high octane offense. The Titans must limit the production from Reggie Wayne and the other Colts recievers, which means Pacman Jones will have to display another shutdown effort against Marvin Harrison. Last time Jones limited Harrison to three receptions for just 29 yards and one touchdown, with the touchdown actually coming when Jones wasn’t even on the field. Chris Hope and Lamont Thompson both need good games to make sure the Colts receivers don’t get big gains. As of late, Colts running back Joseph Addai has been playing brilliantly, and the Colts again look to get Addai a big game. This means the defensive line may have to play one of their better games of the season. With big Albert Hayensworth back along with Robaire Smith the Colts may find it hard to run in the middle against the Titans. Also the defensive line will need a good and consistent pass rush against the Colts; if the Titans are able to get in Manning’s face then the Titans defense may be able to make big plays. Keith Bulluck and David Thornton must have all around games, and be around the ball at all times, if they are able to do this then the percentage of more three and outs against the Colts offense goes up. Finally, the Titans defense will need at least one big turnover in this game. I think the game will come down to a big defensive play that either produces points or sets up the offense to get points.

    Titans Special Teams:
On special teams the Titans will need to continue their impressive play. Pacman Jones will again have to have another great game in returning punts to set up the Titans offense in great field position. Craig Hentrich will also have to have a great game in punting to keep the Colts backed up. Obviously field position is big in this game, and is probably what the game will come down too. Rob Bironas will need to be on top of his game, which he is after coming off of that game winner last week, because the Titans offense may stall a few times inside the 40. Lastly expect a fake or two on punting to pickup a 1st down. The Titans will need ever yard to pull off a win against the Colts.

The Intangibles and Other Important Factors:
Crowd noise will have to be at playoff level during the game. This is a major factor when the Colts are on offense, because it becomes difficult for Peyton to make his calls or hear the play. So to everyone at the game, be loud. Another factor is the condition of the field, although sloppy it could be an advantage to the Titans. The Titans are accustomed to it, but the Colts will probably have a few difficulties adjusting to it early on, meaning the Colts may be a little slower. The weather is predicted to be cool, around 40 degrees the whole game, this is yet another thing the Colts will have to adjust to, and them coming from a dome may come out a little slow.

    Final Prediction and Bottom Line:
Expect a pretty close game, the Titans’ confidence is high, and the game plan against the Colts will probably be another good one. It is important that the Titans make a big defensive stop or turnover that produces points. Also the Titans may have to do a few risky calls and do some trick plays to catch the Colts off guard leading to the Titans getting another possession. So expect onsides kicks, some reverses, and Pacman playing a bit on offense. The Titans must keep the Colts on their heels, and keep this game close the whole game, and that way one of our playmakers on defense or on offense can make a big play to win the game.

    Final Prediction-
    Colts 21
    Titans 25
