Official College Football Season Thread

I'll quit hyping the SEC as a conference when all you Ohio State, Michigan, Boise State, USC, Texas, Oklahoma, etc fans recognize that the SEC is, by far, the best conference in college football.

You dis our out of conference schedule, yet none of the "elite" college programs would SURVIVE SEC scheduling. If Ohio State played Alabama, Florida, and LSU during the regular season they wouldn't have the automatic route to the BCS title. No one else, including Michigan, can even compete in the Big10. Boise State's win over Vtech does not make up for the rest of their weak schedule. It's clear no one from the ACC or Big East if a for real power right now. I thought the new ACC would be a serious threat to the SEC dominance but they've just been assimilated to the point that the best players lean towards SEC before Miami or Florida State. The only reason they stay competitive is because of the Florida talent pool. And even South Florida is rising more than the historic programs.



Yes, my team is a joke, It's a total embarrassment on and off the field. I love UT, I like Auburn. I hate Georgia, Alabama, Florida in that order. I feel sorry for Kentucky and Vandy, and I don't like them. Dislike South Carolina. LSU and Miss. St. are a bunch of jerks too.

But, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. If Alabama, Florida, and LSU winning national titles means UT is on ESPN and getting crazy national coverage and more recruits, then GO SEC.

If you all would recognize the dominance, and quit crying "overhyped" "overrated" "Boise state is the nat'l champion" then MAYBE I could support your schools when they play Bama/Georgia/whatever. But all your fans are delusional morons that don't recognize 6/12 BCS championships as a far superior conference compared to the rest of NCAA football.

And if you read this and think I'm actually going nuts when Alabama destroys Texas... I'm not. I "really" don't care. But it does provide humor while you Big10/Boise State fans cry.

Arenas wont ever do anything but be a return man. Same for McCluster. So why hype them? They're better than Mark Mariani? Whoo! Hooray! Yes, the SEC put out 2 new Dante Halls! Awesome!




As for Alabama losing to Ark... I highly doubt it. Arkansas sucks. If they didn't have SEC patches on their uniforms, no one would think twice about them... like 10 other SEC teams.

 

As for being BY FAR the best conference? They're not.

I dont care if you think they are the best. But BY FAR? Seriously?

The Pac 10 is/has been just as good... and Texas was taking it to the *National Champs with some kid out of highschool while their best player was on the sidelines.

The SEC has 2 teams worth anything. The rest are barely above mediocre. The Pac 10, Big 10, etc at least have 2 serious teams per year... just like the SEC. They don't get automatic bids in the Nat Champ game though.

Hey those three players helped win the game. Go ahead and name off our QB's and I'll name off some players that got them a win, oh and their rookies. Also don't put words in my mouth you're making it seem like all SEC players are great in the NFL, why don't you take those anti-SEC glasses off and look at it from a football perspective.

Arkansas is a good team, especially playing at home. I'm sure you're just playing it down so if we did lose you can try and trash talk about it all the time but I really think they have a great shot of winning that game. We have no experience on defense except for a handful of players.

This has been thrown out here a lot but look at a SEC schedule, it's hard for many teams to make it to the elite status when you're playing a good team every week. We have five ranked teams left on our schedule and we just beat PSU. If we go undefeated that's 6-0 against the top 25 and don't forget we actually have a conference championship so another game against UF, USC, or UGA. So make that 7-0 against top 25, now where does that automatice bid come in because I would love that. Hell, LSU had two loses and still beat Ohio State a few years ago.

A team like UT against Oregon? Give me a break.

Taking it to us? No they weren't. They were kicking field goals. Bama won get over it.

Oh and two serious contenders every year? So the ACC, Big East, WAC, and Big 10 all had at least two contenders? Ohio State and I guess Iowa for the Big 10. Texas for the Big 12. Oh and Pac 10?

 

I'm not saying that the SEC will always be the greatest because it does go in cycles and honestly the Big 10 is about to step up because a lot of SEC teams are struggling with changes (Auburn with Chizik, Mallett leaves Ark next year, UT, LSU about to fire Miles, post Tebow). As for right now just give us our due. I'm tired of hearing about how LSU won with Saban recruits, UF only did good with Tebow, and Bama got lucky. All that has a valid point but it's false. UF has a crap load of talent still, LSU does but wow they need a coach, and Bama didn't lose last season and only lost one game the year before.

 

Ohio State has that locked up.
