    Visits:
OG Louis Vasquez of the Denver Broncos is visiting the Titans 3/10/2016
Free agent CB Antwon Blake will visit the Patriots and Titans.

TitanInsider's Terry McCormick reports re-signing free agent NT Al Woods is "one of the top priorities" for the Titans.

Woods brought nothing to the table as a pass rusher, but held up pretty well in run defense as a nine-game starter last season. Pro Football Focus credited him with nine stops. Woods stands 6'4/314 and turns 29 next month.

Titans re-signed TE Craig Stevens to a one-year contract.

Stevens is a blocker who caught 12 passes last season. He played 436 snaps, clearing lanes in the running game. Stevens turns 32 in September.
    Feb 18 - 8:21 PM

Titans signed CB Brice McCain, formerly of the Dolphins, to a two-year, $4.4 million contract.

He can earn an additional $600,000 if he hits all his incentives. McCain, 29, was released by the Dolphins just over two weeks ago, allowing him to get a jump on the rest of the free-agent class and find a home before the new league year opens March 9. At 5'9/190, McCain will compete for slot-corner duties in Tennessee after flaming out across 11 starts for Miami.
    Mar 2 - 1:51 PM

Titans re-signed exclusive rights free agent RB Antonio Andrews.

A 2014 UDFA, Andrews had an inexplicably big role in the Titans' backfield last season, taking the rock 143 times for 520 yards (3.63 YPC). He made 10 starts. The perennially cellar-dwelling Titans will be in big trouble if Andrews comes anywhere close to that workload in 2016. He's a first-ballot member of the plodder Hall-of-Fame.
    Mar 3 - 2:58 PM

Titans acquired RB DeMarco Murray from the Eagles in exchange for undisclosed draft pick compensation.

NFL observers should be impressed with Eagles GM Howie Roseman, who in a matter of days will be unloading a huge chunk of salary, and three players who were almost entirely ineffective in 2015. Kiko Alonso and Byron Maxwell are also headed out the door. Murray averaged 3.64 yards per carry last season, and his legs have appeared dead since the end of the 2014 campaign in Dallas, where Murray amassed nearly 500 all-purpose touches. In theory, Murray will give the Titans a bellcow running back and provide an upgrade on Antonio Andrews. Like Murray, however, Andrews also finished last season with a 3.64 YPC average. Murray, of course, is far more skilled in the passing game. Either way, this trade looks like a big win for Philadelphia and a potentially ugly one for Tennessee.

Titans agreed to terms with C Ben Jones, formerly of the Texans, on a four-year contract.

Jones started his career as a guard, but made the switch to center last season, playing 1,274 snaps through knee and back issues. The Titans are making it a point to upgrade their offensive line, and Jones will replace Brian Schwenke at the pivot after Schwenke has yet been able to finish a 16-game season thanks to injuries and ineffectiveness. Jones was a league-average starter at best in Houston, finishing 2015 as Pro Football Focus' No. 22 center out of 40.

Titans agreed to terms with WR Rishard Matthews on a three-year, $15 million contract.

The deal includes $2.5 million guaranteed. He chose the Titans over the Patriots, almost certainly because Tennessee offered more money. Matthews, 26, caught 43 passes for 662 yards and four touchdowns in 11 games for the Dolphins last year, showing playmaking ability in the short and intermediate range. He is adept after the catch and has strong hands. In Tennessee, Matthews should provide a big upgrade on Harry Douglas in three-receiver sets alongside Dorial Green-Beckham and Kendall Wright. With Matthews, DeMarco Murray, and C Ben Jones added so far, the Titans' offense has a chance to take a big step forward in Marcus Mariota's second year.

Titans signed QB Matt Cassel, formerly of the Cowboys, to a one-year contract.

The journey continues for Cassel, who is headed to his fourth team in three seasons. Cassel enjoyed a brief stint as the Cowboys' starter last year but was predictably awful and eventually fell behind Kellen Moore on the depth chart. He'll be no better than third string in Tennessee behind starter Marcus Mariota and backup Zach Mettenberger. By Felicia (Zach).

Titans re-signed NT Al Woods to a three-year contract.

Woods visited the Seahawks on Friday, but he ultimately decided to re-up with Tennessee. Woods should continue in his role as a two-down, rotational run stuffer.

Titans signed ILB Sean Spence, formerly of the Steelers, to a one-year, $2.5 million contract.

Spence reunites with ex-Steelers DC Dick LeBeau in Tennessee. He was a 2012 third-rounder but missed his first two seasons after suffering a gruesome knee injury after he was drafted. Spence will compete to start next to ILB Avery Williamson and pitch in on special teams covering kicks and punts.

Titans signed CB Antwon Blake, formerly of the Steelers, to a one-year contract.

A 2012 undrafted free agent, Blake struggled mightily as a first-time starter last season. The Titans are unsettled opposite Jason McCourty, but Blake is probably being signed as a reserve.

    Titans re-signed G/T Byron Bell to a one-year contract.

The ex-guard saw heavy snaps at both guard and tackle last season, but struggled mightily. Bell has never been an effective tackle. It might be time for him to make the move full time to guard. That's especially true since the Titans could be drafting Ole Miss' Laremy Tunsil to bookend Taylor Lewan.

I can't help but scoff at that fact that Stevens is the first person we contact/work with.

Al Woods being a top pri- You think that has any impact with FA?

None of the free agents are must sign guys. If they sign Stevens and Woods, OK....if not, whatever, they can find replacements .

We don't have any marquee FA's so its not surprising, or disappointing, that these guys are first. IIRC Stevens was the first to be re-signed the last time he was a pending FA.

bruh, we don't need Al Woods, he's just a fat dude who clogs up the middle. Didn't we draft DaQuan Jones to be that. I'd move Jones to NT let Woods go and get a real DE either in FA or draft.

    Stevens is bad.

    "Top priority"?

Maybe getting our priorities in order would be a nice start.

The defensive middle for the Titans was terribly inconsistent last year as it has been the last two. Woods would be nice to keep but can certainly be upgraded and hope he is.

A blocking TE specialist is a nice luxury to have in two TE sets and he won't break the bank. But it's not like blocking TEs are rare. The unit is getting a little long in the tooth and there needs to be some young, quality talent brought in soon.

They probably figure these will be easy, cheap contracts to negotiate. Get them out of the way first, before the combine, and before we get down to the wire and FA is about to start.
