Titans coach Mike Munchak gave his players an early start to their summer break on Wednesday, canceling what would have been the final day of a three-day mini-camp on Thursday.

Munchak liked what he saw on Tuesday and Wednesday, when the offense and defense went at one another in unscripted game-style conditions (aside from the pads and tackling, of course).

“Three practices in a row at this level is really hard,” Munchak said. “Two days is plenty for that. I felt like they came out and did exactly what we asked them to do, so I thought there was no reason to do it three days in a row.

“I feel we’re in a good spot. I don’t know if one more day could have put us any better. I felt like we got accomplished as much as we can, coaches included. Everyone is ready for a break, so I thought it worked out well.”

Maybe, but anyone whos played knows this goes a long ways.

Players love getting little treats like this.

Yeah, but don't make a habit of it, or players will expect it and get mad if they are forced to practice every day ... yeah 3 days in a row might be hard, but pushing through this is what makes a team mentally tough.

Not a big deal now, but hope it doesn't become a habit or our guys may get soft

Yup- you play like you practice. I didn't see how intense they were without pads or how well they executed but not finishing to the predetermined finish never sits well with me.

I don't think you can win many games if you take off the last quarter.

If we had a good record last year, or the year before, I could see this. Don't really see that it's warranted for a team that needs all the work it can get.

    I don't like it.

Jake needs all the reps he can get with his WR's.
