Has anyone watched The Battery??
Sequel to Batteries Not Included?
IT'S ABOUT TIME!
Yes, I enjoyed that a lot. But I didn't think it would appeal to anyone here because of the pacing and super indie vibe..
It was surprisingly good. The soundtrack really made the movie go.
Hopefully the sequel will be out soon, if they will make it.
The power of music made that film no doubt.
Loved the zombiet*ts scene..
I mean... it IS the same thing.
If you liked the first- you'll like the second.
The first was insanely overrated (and I liked it) so I think that's the main reason for the disliking of the second. "Wait... this stuff really isn't as great as we made it out to be? F THEM!"
I really don't think that's it. The writing simply was not nearly as good as the first one. And it's as if they realized it and went "Let's just give Brick some more stupid s*** to say! Remember how everyone lost it when he said I love lamp?!?". This one just felt SO forced.
It's a problem many comedy sequels have though. They kinda get lightning in a bottle with the first one and desperately try to capture it again (which I can't really blame them for). And more often than not it ends up feeling like an uninspired rehash.
We'll see if 22 Jump Street can be a decent sequel...
I feel like it's going to be the exact same thing, but with them in college (kind of like how Hangover 2 was the exact same thing but in Thailand). I will still see it, no doubt. Loved the other one.
I think you and others are just being far too harsh of critics for a comedy sequel.
It's on par with the first. If you don't overrate the first- or expect the sequel to be on some new brand of comedy.
I can quote a bunch of lines from the first anchorman but there isn't one line in the second one that I remember. That doesn't mean much though. Just isn't near as funny as the first one to me
