7 of his TD's were from 3 yards or fewer including 4 from a yard. That 60 yard TD was a catch where he just ran up the middle.

btw Jamie Harper scored 3 TD's last year all from a yard out soooo

If we're going to pay a RB for short yardage carries just find someone in the draft and not waste money on Turner because who knows what he'll be asking. Falcons cut him with no other capable starters on the depth chart and not a very appealing free agency class. That tells me everything about the guy. Turner is now a guy good for 5-10 carries that includes the short yard/goal line. I guess that might be what we're looking for but depends on the price.

He doesn't have to be the "same".

You're acting like he didn't almost average 4ypc... sorry, he did. And for a goal-line type back- that's pretty solid output.

Depends on price he's asking. Goal line back I would be fine with but he definitely should not be splitting carries with CJ.

Oh I am by no means saying give this guy anything more than 2nd string runningback pay, he is clearly on the decline.

Lets not compare the guy to Harper. 10/10 guys will want Turner in on 3 and goal that Harper. Turner is what we all wanted Harper to be.

Besides, Jaquizz Rogers is a capable back, the Falcons will be fine with him back there.

He's definitely good enough to split carries with CJ. Especially the way CJ plays most the time now.

Price is the only issue. But if cheap enough, not a hard choice.

What the Titans need to a decent veteran running back and a rookie to help keep C.J. on the bench more. A veteran like Turner is ideal because he has experience and is still wanting to play at a high level; splitting carries will keep him fresh and hopefully more effective.

We need our front office to use a late draft pick or comb the bushes for the next undrafted Legarrett Blount. There will be a few quality running back that will slip thru the cracks, ala Arian Foster. We need find one there.

I think we need to have C.J. competing for carries if you want him to rise to his previous level of intensity and success.

Obviously if Turner would be willing to coe to TN for a 2 mil contract you take it because what do we have to lose, Jammie Harper? But yes, we still need to find a young guy to press CJ. If Turner signed a two year deal and played decently and we found a rookie who was better in the passing game Turner might be around longer than CJ.

But Turner isn't a guy we go running after like we did with Hutch and throw a bunch of money hi way only to find out we were stupid.

If you can get Turner to the 2nd level, he is still a decent RB, but he has to get pass the 1st level in order to get to the 2nd level, and getting past the 1st level for Turner is asking for too much.

It's true. You need to be careful with old power backs. When they start going down hill it is a real slippery slope.
