    Well IMO Goodfellas is tops.

Casino, Heat and Ronin are also up there.

I really enjoyed "The Family" from last year.

I won't argue those aren't good movies - but DeNiro essentially played Jimmy Conway in about 12 movies (Goodfellas, Casino, Bronx Tale, Copland, etc.) then haphasardly killed it off w the Analyze movies. Those roles cumulatively feel a bit caricatured.
Rupert Pupkin and Travis Bickle though, those roles he f'n kung-fu'd his way through. So many epic scenes, lines, delivery etc.

    Loved Night and the City!
    King of Comedy, eh?
I confess to have never seen Cape Fear, or a lot of DeNiro films you probably think I should have, but by any god, DeNiro is tha ****Z...(I hope that is a positive in today's posh lingo)...

Such an underrated movie last year.

His scenes with Tommy Lee Jones were great.

does De Niro consider himself a comedian?

I have noticed sometimes when he is the producer he casts himself in funnyman roles and well comdy aint his best skill.

He was an embarassment in Rocky & Bullwinkle

He no doubt became a caricature of himself in his later years (for the most part). But the dude has had a truly amazing career and had brought some of film's most iconic characters to life. I kinda feel like the guy deserved to be able to take it easy and "coast" a bit in his later years.

I enjoyed Meet the Parents and even the Analyze movies for what they were.

Wasn't that entire movie an embarrassment though?
