When he's ready get him on the field, can't get much worse on defense at this point.

They once had him as a 2nd rounder (pre-season), went to 3rd-4th... and we got him in the 6th due to injury. Missed combine due to knee, and most teams knew he'd be out for a while. He decided to do his pro-day (even though he was injured), looked bad and ran a 4.6. Draft stock went down. However, he ran a 4.45 in his junior pro-day.

Started all 13 games at strong safety and totaled 74-11-0 with five tackles for loss and two forced fumbles.

    Stolen from profootball weekly:
"flash hitter with linear athleticism, Martin is tough, intense and vocal, but his lack of flexibility is restricting. Maddeningly inconsistent tackler with limited instincts and ball skills who could wind up starting in a league short on safeties. However, he is the type you look to replace and is more ideally suited as a backup"

MY breakdown: good tackler, goes for big hits and whiffs sometimes. Not a "ball hawk", more of a tackler.. even though he has good hands (played WR a little). Was a leader at OkSt, has the measurables, just needs to fix some minor things. Can't be any worse than Wiffin on missed tkls.

I anticipate him being our starting safety by the end of the year, over Babs.

Put down the weed, he's not that good yet.

I'm not expecting much til next year, if he does somehow take Babs job I'll be impressed.

    You'd better be joking.

This guy isn't even Robert Johnson material.

Sorry guys. Martin is another "allergic to contact" type. The only time he makes a big hit is when someone isn't looking- and it's still a rarity and in bad form.
