Yeah. Because he recruits lousy players, it looks like.

They say "Only steers and queers come from Texas" but if they had any queers, you think they would have been drafted.

Texas should be like Alabama and Florida St. Simply too many talented players coming out of that state though there is intense competition. A&M has been kicking their arses since coming to the sec. What a brilliant move to be the only Tejas school in the sec makes A&M elite over night!

Still you have 100 recruits in Tejas alone with a 3* grade and 33% are 4 and 5 stars. UT only needs to get 7-8 of those 33 every year.

Bama and Florida St. are recruiting 2-3 1st rd picks every year. Florida at times has done that and all those schools are taking from the same pool. Florida and the southeast so you expect the Longhorns to be close to that.

Note that Alabama had nobody drafted in 2007. Texas is at that level now. Not for long.

Mack Brown has a rep as a bit of a lazy recruiter. Gets good recruiting classes because it is Texas and you can fall ass backwards into good recruiting classes. He should though be getting great recruiting classes every year all things considered.

Texas also has the rep that players are not developed well there. And has been that way for years. Adrian Peterson when asked why he chose Oklahoma over Texas said that because players do not get better at Texas.

yeah well.. those of you that dislike Texas get your shots in now. Texas Longhorn football has been a sleeping giant and I truly believe Strong will have Texas competing for national championships consistently in the next few years.

It bring me no joy to say that at all but I feel that it's true.
