Titans quarterback Jake Locker is expected to have surgery in the near future to repair the Lisfranc injury he suffered in Sunday’s game against the Jaguars.

Locker, who was officially placed on Injured Reserve on Tuesday, is scheduled to see a specialist in the coming days.

“I would assume he is,’’ Coach Mike Munchak said on Tuesday. “Until he is looked at they decide exactly what they are going to do, it is hard to tell how long rehab is or what is the best way to go forward. It depends on what the doctor says when he sees him. I don’t think he’s seen the doctor yet that’s going to work on him. They’ve seen pictures, but I think until they actually see him they won’t be able to determine that.”

Locker injured his right foot in the second quarter against the Jaguars when he was hit while running for eight yards.

He fumbled on the next play, then limped to the sideline, where doctors examined him before walking him to the locker room for X-rays. The initial diagnosis at LP Field was a Lisfranc injury, and further tests on Monday confirmed the diagnosis.

3 seasons, 3 injuries, time to move on. We aren't talking about Andrew Luck who clearly makes team better when he is out there vs someone else.

Locker just isn't the real deal. I see him as a backup the rest of his career if he has one. We can keep him on next year for last rookie contract year, but I totally believe we need to draft one of the 5 top QBs in 2014 draft

How does one become injury prone? I don't get it. Are his bones more brittle? Ligaments weaker? Just in the wrong place at the wrong time?

I refuse to think that someone can be injured significantly easier than another person. Especially being in good shape.

With that being said... He is injured all the time! I like Locker and would love to have him become the next best QB for years to come in a Titan Uniform. But, we need wins now. We are just a few short pieces away from being a very good team. Time to win is now.

Good luck coming back Locker. But, imo we should have someone competing for that spot come camp next year.

If he was on any other team, he would probably never get hurt.

We are a snake bitten franchise to the bone.

He better be in Dr Robert Anderson's office in Charlotte by the weekend! If so, he'll be fully healed by March/April
