Lions just got robbed by the officials.

No one is more upset than me.

This is bullsh**. The guy catches it- holds it out with 1 hand... but since the ball pops out (after he would have been down in the endzone by any other rule)... it's incomplete?


Lions are 1-0. F the Bears AND the NFL.

Worst call I've ever seen outside of robbing the no-hitter against the Tigers. The NFL sucks.

 

I just saw the play. That was clearly a catch. WTF were those refs thinking?

 

It was incomplete by the letter of the law. I don't like it but the receiver didn't totally maintain possession until the play was over. I don't like it either but it's the rule.

 

He maintained position long enough to clearly know it was a catch.

The guy switched hands and held the ball out extended with one hand... how would it not be a catch?

Sometimes you've gotta go against the rule if the rule is clearly wrong. This was one of those times.

 

It was obvious he let the ball go because he had a touchdown. It didn't slip from his hand. That decision will win the prize for the worst call of the season-or maybe ever.

 

Thing is... any other time, this is ruled a catch.

If it were in the middle of the field, they'd only be discussing how the ground cant cause a fumble.

:( That's all they needed. They would start the season 1-0... and the NFL takes a steamy dump on their face.

Painful being a fan of this team. Even when they should win- they aren't allowed.

 

As he was still moving on the ground from the momentum of the catch he let go of the ball therefore not a catch.

 

We know the stupid rule, Eddy.

It was still CLEARLY A CATCH.

No nonsensical technical BS rule is going to change that.

In any other league- that's a catch. In even baseball- that's a catch. What ever happened to "football move"? Because he did about 3 of them before the ball came out.
