Kenny Britt in Trouble (again)

I think the fact that he is NOT here practicing says more about his attitude than anything else. If he were really interested in becoming the best player he can be, he would be here doing his job. Instead, he is back in the 'hood, toking it up and playing hot shot. He has chosen what he values most. The fact that he is 22 makes no difference. He knows the rules, he knows right from wrong, and he's choosing to walk another path that can lead only one way-to his destruction, unless he sees the light.

 

Yep. The "he's young" excuse only works for so long. After the 1st arrest? Absolutely. After the 2nd? Sure. The third? Mayyybe. The sixth time? No. Freaking. Way. At this point we all need to come to grips with the fact that we're dealing with bonafide moron here who is unlikely to grow up anytime soon.

 

They aren't worried about weed, they are worried about their own safety. 9 times out of 10 someone in possession of marijuana will take an arrest peacefully and quietly, cocaine.. ehhh not so much. Those officers will still get full recognition and a pat on the back because there are still people like PhiSlammaJamma and other victims of government misinformation who actually believe cannabis use is addictive.

Regardless of those facts, Britt is an idiot and deserves to go to jail for sheer stupidity. He also deserves to be thrown off of the team, no doubt, but that does not mean it's what the Titans should do. CJ will be gone soon, Locker is a gigantic question mark no matter what side of his aisle you're on, let's face it our offense needs Kenny just to be even watchable. What do we really have to lose besides Gage off of the roster? DWill and Mariani will get their reps, the future is bright for young Damian.

 

That's what a lot of people tried to say about Pacman. We see how that's turned out...

Wow, what an idiot.

That said, I, for one, do not want to see us outright dump him. As a few others have said, I would like to see Munch sit him down, tell him he has to play his way into the starting lineup, then give DWill and Mariani every chance to stay above him on the depth chart. If Britt sulks, or continues his off field behavior, I would try to unload him in a trade sometime in the preseason (maybe take advantage of another team's injury).

The guy is 22, and I still think that there is still some hope for him. He really needs to be scared straight....and hopefully that can happen without what Amy predicts (although I could definitely see him learning his lesson in prison at some point as well).
