    Weren't they also a type of weapon?

    Didn't someone strap explosives to them and fly them toward the enemy at some point? Seems like a good idea.

    It is fact, I did a paper over them during an aviation history class a few years back.

    I believe they were first discovered to have this talent by the French.

    A group of French military members were surrounded by enemy forces and managed to coral some pigeons and call for reinforcements.
