It's crazy how this forum's solution to every problem is let him walk/cut him and draft a replacement who will be cheaper and just as good like it's something that happens all the time and is easy to do. Right now Vern and McCourty for that matter are both much more valuable than EVERY corner in this upcoming draft including the 1st rounders because they have actually proven that they can not only play but excel at this level.

Yes, sometimes fortune favors the bold but in a game where a guy dominates college and then busts in the pros you always take the known commodity. People need to stop with this mentality that we can just replace every player with a cheaper, better replacement. If it was that easy wouldn't everyone just do that? You let Vern walk if the price is astronomically high and will hurt the team. There are acceptable levels of expensive.

^^^ I couldn't have said that any better...I mean there are just so many players that come out of college labeled as CAN'T MISS players and they turn and BUST. It's not easy finding players that skill set not only projects well in the pros but in your team's desired scheme as well. As I said earlier I'd take a proven commodity over draft potential almost any day. When that player no longer performs and it becomes a consistent pattern then I'd look to the draft.

Like I said earlier if we can afford him, I see nothing wrong with paying our players who are having success if it doesn't hurt the team...

You do realize that by cutting CJ and Verner and most likely losing Pollard is going to create a lot of holes to fill. That does not improve our team what so ever. Not to mention the fact that if we don't improve our QB situation this offseason were are going to be in even more trouble!

I at least expect us to make offers to both Pollard and Verner. If they walk then that on them, we all want those 2 to come back in 2014.

As for CJ leaving, it doesn't create a hole, and the reason being, he f*cking SUCKS!

Him getting cut creates an opportunity for our offense to finally become stable.

Yeah it looked real stable when Greene was in there! Idk how you don't see that cutting CJ (who put up better numbers than Gore) creates a big hole to fill. Exactly why I doubt we cut him. However we may cut Greene and draft an actual RB to compete with CJ.

I think there is a very good chance that Verner will be back next year. He was just on Midday 180 and says that people should definitely look into the fact that he knows what teams and wr we are playing next year. He and McCourty have already scouted WR and talked about game planes for them. His agent has spoke a bit with Titans, but not much. Said they were busy with coaches right now. He really wants to be back. If we gave him an identical deal to McCourty, I think he would take it. We should do it

There is only 1 team out there paying their 2 starting CB's both big money, the Bears.

I'd be surprised if we shelled out that kind of money to both Verner and McCourty, but maybe we do, we've been over spending in every other area of the team, why not CB too....
