flukey play? You mean when the CB picked off Rodgers? How is that flukey at all? It's in the locker room, dude. Ask anyone that has played football and they'll tell you how their coach acts a fool when in the "sanctuary" that is the locker room. Recruiting switches happen at the last minute all the time, we lost two at the last minute last year but you don't see Dooley saying anything about the kid not being a "man of honor". Trust me dude, I was at that game, you could have fried an egg on Franklin's face he was so pissed
I was talking about the referee blowing th play dead. Should he have blown it dead? No. But he blew it dead and then blatantly lied about it on national TV. That is not a reviewable play. Once the whistle is blown, the play is dead by rule. No review is possible. I know Franklin was pissed. He should have been. Do you not realize how many breaks went Tennessees way that night? The STUPID penalty by Jelesky on a TD pass by Rodgers. I was cussing out Jelesky for that one. The blocked FG that was negated by a penalty no one has ever heard of. Only to be followed by a 4th down TD conversion caught by Da'Rick only because he mauled Casey Hayward in the end zone. It was almost as bad as the final play of the Saints game last year. Again, Franklin should have not kept his mouth shut about Dawson but what can ya do? He's only human.
I guess I was just thinking how easy it is at first. It's still not bad IMO if you're looking for 8-4 or 7-5. Beyond Bama and SC, I don't consider any of them very difficult games. Florida, Miss St, Georgia, Missouri, and Vandy are all winnable games. They'll definitely lose to Bama and SC and they'll probably go 2-3 in the games I just mentioned... so 7-5.
UGA will likely have the best defense in the conference. Definite L's Bama SC UGA Likely L's Florida Toss-up Mizzou Miss State Vanderbilt NC State Likely W's UK 3 other OOC games. So say they win the 4 likely W's and split the toss ups that is 6-6. I'll throw in one upset and say the ceiling is at 7-5 for this season.
Franklin will be gone within 3 years. The guy has cussed out opposing fans and he also has had arguments with opposing coaches. As far as the video of the walk on, clearly Franklin is the first coach ever to give a walk on a scholarship! Bottom line, vandy will always be second fiddle to UT in Nashville and when Ut hosts Vandy this year in Nashville, that will be shown again.
Never said I was a big fan of Dooley. I just have lived in Nashville long enough to know that either coaches wear out their welcome or coaches leave the first chance they get. You think if Franklin has a bad year that the Vandy Bluebloods will put up with his antics? And the fans themselves, aren't really "fans". Huge game and can't even sell out the smallest stadium in the SEC. Vandy is 2nd, 3rd or 4th in their own town...fact. Difference between UT and Vandy? I know if we only wins 7 games, then Dooley has a good chance of being fired. If Franklin wins 7 games, Vandy will put our a DVD.
