I did a lot of scuba diving when I was stationed in GTMO. One of my roommates was a Navy Diver. I went quite a lot with him and his crew. It really is a different world under the sea...haven't lived until you are chased out of a hammerhead's territory.

Would love to dive with Hammerheads. Hopefully it will happen when I am in Central America in March.

Aus Navy doesn't do a lot of diving, only job is clearance diver.

What is a clearance diver? US Navy diver had a lost of duties which I am sure are expanded with the war on terror. When I was in it was some underwater demo work, some underwater construction and repair type of stuff. My job was as a Navy Photographer/videographer, I loved to do underwater photos but when I was in it was pre digital, not as easy as now.

AFAIK they clear bombs. Can't imagine it would be a busy job...

    edit: just googled it

I love doing underwater photography/videography. The videoing is easy with GoPros these days but I am really hit or miss on photos.
Here are some of my more recent ones that have come out decently (imo):

I should have added photography as a hobby. I don't like doing those photos people do where they try and make it deep and meaningful or whatever. I just point and shoot at things I find cool or interesting.

    Usually this is just animals.
