We keep learning new things about this guy. I didn't know for example that going into the Oregon game that he had not thrown a single incomplete pass on an opening drive all season or did not have a single turnover in the 4th quarterl. WTF?

Listening to what he says in this video it is obvious he has a good head for the game and wants to improve.

If Cam is supposed to be VY or Russell than what about all the other Qbs in this draft?

All of that sounds very familiar....
    Oh yeah,
    David Johnson:
    258 of 400 (65%)
    4,059yds (10.15yds per attempt)
    46TD 18INT
11.5% of his passes were TDs

All in his one and only season as a starter under Malzahn.

The guy before him seemed to take kindly to Malzahn's offense, too.

    Paul Smith:
    327 of 544 (60%)
    5,065yds (9.3yds per attempt)
    47TD 19INT
9% of his passes were TDs
Also had 13 rushing TDs to give him 60TDs on the season (his only year playing for Malzahn)

Even Chris Todd had a decent season for a career benchwarmer.
    ------------------------------------------------------------

Maybe the scouts are seeing something wonderful in Newton's leadership qualities. Perhaps their voodoo science of talent evaluation will be vindicated and Newton will prove to be a Pro Bowl signal caller in the NFL.

But, I wouldn't put any stock in the statistics put up by college quarterbacks who play for Gus Malzahn. His system will make ANY quarterback look like a diamond-encrusted platinum colossus, gleaming in perpetual sunlight. Where are his previous quarterbacks now? I have no idea. They're certainly not playing in the NFL.

As good as I think Newton can be, only way I see us drafting him is if Gabbert and maybe even Locker have already been picked by #8

Nice to see that most of you can't be objective about the posts because it doesn't put Cam Newton in a great light. Let the Cam Newton nutswinging begin! VY 2.0 here we come!
