    Sounds like they may have made the right decision to me. Collins has looked like crap, but it has been 2 games. Anyone can argue til their blue in the face that Volek would have played better (and he probably would have against the Chargers), but there is no way to know that for sure. We have 14 more games with the 6th most difficult schedule in the NFL and Young will be starting soon.

    C'mon, Thornton was signed and Sirmon faxed in his request. He didn't do anything different than what Volek did in voicing his displeasure in the signing.

    Brown was still the #1 and didn't even have competition and he requests a trade. Are you saying Brown's agent did this without Brown's approval? Funny how Brown didn't set the record straight for quite a while.

    My only guess is Brown and Sirmon had the backing of their Coordinator to stay,
    whereas Chow probably lobbied to cut Volek loose.

    Sounds like excuses to me. Whether Billy didnt work hard last year, and lied to Fisher about where he was during off season work, only makes Fisher look worse for waiting so long to bring in Collins. If he knew that Volek wasnt a hard worker and wasnt taking that step up to be a starter, then why in the hell did they wait so long to bring in Collins?

    My guess is because they knew Volek was just a temporary plug until VY is ready, and they saw that VY was ahead of where people thought he would be, so they just decided to ride out the short term with Volek and then kick him to the curb.
