No, he and Fisher dismantled this franchise. Jeff Fisher should get just as much blame as Vince Young.

Marcellus Wiley of ESPN is on the Mike and Mike show this morning and was asked about VY calling himself an elite QB. Marcellus Riley who has spent of time with VY lately said that he got some calls after VY's statements. He said although many of his callers disagreed, if you actually look at what he's accomplished VY has an excellent point. He mentioned his QB rating being better, that Peyton, Brees, and Big Ben this year. Mentioned his winning % as a QB. Mentioned how VY has always been a winner on the field but his downfall is he didn't understand the politics off the field. He dared Mike and Mike to name any WR's VY has had at Tenn outside of this recent team? He made his final point in that he has never seen a coach that didn't support his QB like Fisher. He said VY accomplished all of this with a coach that did not support him. One of the Mikes said that it appeared that the coach almost enjoyed seeing his QB's demise.

Now please tell me again who single handedly destroyed this franchise? Now we're hearing he was sneaking around doing some fishy stuff behind the owners back. The guy was a horrible coach that had too much power and we now are hearing he has no integrity. This makes a lot of sense now with his dealings with his best QB that just wins game.

VY couldn't even call the plays right.
The problem with Young is really all the above mentioned items. It has gone to his head.
In 2007 VY was the QB on a playoff team despite his ridiculous poor play (possibly the worst year for a playoff QB in the history of the NFL). When he was suicidal after the Jags game it was Fisher who went looking for him. The rest of 2008 proved the team could win even with KC at QB. Fisher did everything to help Young, not the other way around. It was a huge win for the coaching staff VY had the inflated QB rating. Heck, Fisher went out and got some great talent to put around VY, called him the Titans QB and knew despite his down falls that VY was his best chance to win.

Put VY with just about any other coach and he doesn't get babied, coddled. In fact after the 2008 incident he might not ever play for that coach again. His level of professionalism was lacking. But people kept telling him, VY, you are a winner, you are the man and it basically went to his head. I think people even convinced him that Fisher didn't like him, didn't want him and all that other bunk.

As far as 2010 VY was given the ball as the starting QB from game one. His inability to stay healthy cost the team. His mental breakdown cost him a place on the team.

    (1) Fisher went out and got Vince some talent around him? Like a favor? I thought that was his job.... He didn't have ANYBODY his first two years and OMG some actual talent arrives and Vince starts to really progress.
Btw, how well do you really expect any quarterback to play in his second year? They are HISTORICALLY bad, usually, in their second year. Jesus give the guy a break.

    (2) Yeah, that lasted until the SECOND game.

    (3) Its amazing how he went from supporting the hell out of him to taking low blows at him through the media, all the while vince is being classy, taking the blame, apologizing, and thanking Fishface and the organization. I will agree Vince is not the smartest guy when it comes to politics in the media, but that is all it is...POLITICS. One more thing, if Steve McNair tried the same thing scooping up the ball he would be praised to no end for being a warrior and trying to make something out of nothing and never giving up and you know it.

Irrational people always tend to call themselves rational.
