If I sent them an email, and they didn't do anything about it (i.e. change their policies) then yes, it would be a moot point.
But I tell you what, I'll go by the place and tell them if it makes YOU feel better. I am pretty dang sure that it's not going to do any good.

And apparently you didn't read anything but the '40 dollars' of my post. It wasn't just about that. If you lack the intelligence to see why trying to charge a customer who is already ready to pay $250, an additional $40 bucks to tighten two 17mm castle nuts, then I feel sorry for you.

Do you have the physical and mental ability to take a boxed end 17mm wrench and tighten a 17 mm nut? It doesn't take a rocket scientist to do it, and it doesn't, EVER, require $40 to do it.

Lastly, if you don't have anything constructive to say in this thread, other than to refer to me as a drama queen, then STFO of it please.

We have a Firestone shop here in Lake Charles and I needed an allignment, so I called them up. I asked them what an allignment cost and the guy told me they were running a special and it was going to cost $49.99. I asked them if they were usually busy on Saturday, because that was the day I was bringing it in. I always note down the name of people who tell me stuff. This guy's name was Bill. Bill told me that they tend to get busy on Saturday but if I got it there early they could get me out quicker. I show up as they are unlocking the door to the place and I go in and sure enough Bill is the guy helping me out. So I leave my keys and my wife picks me up and we go run around town for an hour or so. She takes me back and I go it to get my truck and to pay and Bill tells me that it's going to be something like $97. I said "what?!, I called just yesterday and you told me that it was $49.99 on special?" "Oh yea." he says, "That is a weekday special only." I asked him if he didn't hear me when I asked him how much and then followed it with I'm comming in on Saturday? I asked him if he didn't think to let me know that it would be almost twice as much if I did come in on the weekend? His response was "Sorry." I could have jumped over that counter and beat the you know what out of the guy. I know how you feel and I won't ever step foot in that place again.

Saying anything constructive? Sorry for offering a bit of normal advice that'd apply to a normal person.
You seem like that type that WANTS to find something they can throw a hissy-fit over.

It wont help ME feel better if you email them or speak to a manager, but just maybe it would do a bit of good. A lot more chance of that happening than you leaving like a woman. Just deciding it'd be a moot point without actually knowing is a bit silly, don't you think?
And what does you paying 250 dollars already have to do with anything?

Yeah, that 50 dollar profit they're making from you in times where they're hurting? Hell, they should have thrown in a free oil change. Sure, they shouldn't charge 40 or even 20 for something so simple, but this is America. Most places do nickle/dime you for the simplest things.
