I'm just not too excited about our #20 pick this year. I'm more excited about our 2nd and 3rd round selections. Alshon Jeffery in the 2nd Goodnight! See you guys 2morrow..
Apparently the rumors are starting up and Barron might be going to Buffalo. Walterfootball now has us getting Melvin Ingram, which would be amazing but highly doubt it. Coples is interesting, he can go in the top 10 to around our selection. Would we draft him even though he has a lot of concerns? I'm thinking Dre Kirk will be gone to either Dallas or Cincy and Gilmore will be gone by 15. So that really leaves us with... DE: Mercilus Perry Upshaw (if Jets pass on him) DT: Poe Really anyone else except Cox and Brockers OLB: Hightower (seems to be the only OLB we would consider) CB: Gilmore and Dre are gone, no one else. S: Harrison Smith WR: Stephen Hill Kendal Wright OG/C: DeCastro (if he falls) My pick would be Dont'a Hightower. The depth at DE and DT are very strong at our pick and someone we like will fall to us in the 2nd. At OLB there really isn't a whole lot in the 4-3 and wouldn't expect Levonte David to be there. CB now gets pushed to round 3 or even 4 depending on OL.
So I've been sitting around watching highlights all evening (I refuse to be one of the pretentious tools who refers to youtube clips as "watching film") and I gotta say... if we do go DT at 20, I found still to be quite a bit more impressive than Brockers, from a movement, skill, and effort standpoint. But what the hell do I know? I still think DeCastro and Hightower are my two favorite possibilites though.
^^^ What I've been saying all along... with the 20th pick, the Titans select Dre Kirkpatrick...with Asante Samuel no longer a possibility we go with an elite corner, although Hightower will be very tough to pass up. This is assuming Decastro, Barron, and Cox are gone...
For a minute I thought we'd pick Kirkpatrick, but the fact that we let Finnegan walk and passed on Samuel for a 7th round pick (who we'll likely cut) tells me we feel confident with our current set of CBs.
I guess this is the current flavor? Never mind that it doesn't really make sense. So let's say McCarthy slides to WLB and we have McCarthy, Hightower and Ayers. Who plays on third down? I think Ayers is rushing more this season. Hightower put his hand on the ground at Alabama on third down. McCarthy and Spoon? Spoon was taken out of the nickel defense last year in favor of Ayers. I don't really have anyone in mind for #20. I do, however, know who I don't want. Hill, Hightower, Mercilus and Kirkpatrick.
Plain and simple...Brockers. I love how the op said 1 player only and everyone posts at least 4 players. lol.
