looks like everyone is pissed off at the last 2 picks, for how great the FO did in free agency they've come down a few notches because of this draft. I like Xaviar Gooden though

I disagree. We are obviously going to something like what the saints team in their super bowl run. Lots of blitzes, jam receivers at the line, disrupt everything and create havoc.

And since we have more talent than they did, it should work. Will definitely be more fun than greys soft zone bs.

    I

As opposed to having one of the worst offenses in the league???

Our defense IS going to be better. We have upgraded it this off-season and a better offense will help keep them off the field.

Everyone keeps complaining about not getting a "dominant" DE, but the odds of that player starting over Wimbley or Morgan is slim. All we need is depth.

Blidi Breh-Wilson was a solid pick as well. Sure I'd rather have Moore too, but there must be a reason he fell so far. He was being talked about as a top 10 pick at one point.

Great points. Also keep in mind you can take a good pass rushing DE out of the game with double teams. How do you stop two LB's who can run sub 4.4 without keeping more blockers on the line and in the backfield?

If Locker is the 12 best QB in the league next year then were screwed because that means he got sent to the CFL and we wasted a first round pick.

There is absolutely no chance our defense is as bad as it was last year.

Who did we lose on defense that will make us worse? No one.
Who did we add on defense that will help us? Gregg Williams, George Wilson, and Bernard Pollard - not to mention the depth d-linemen.

I'd be hoping for somewhere around 15-20th ranked defense in total yards and hopefully near the top 10 in scoring defense like we were in 2011.

Actually I think our defense will improve significantly for a number of reasons:
-- We now have an actual safety that can play in the box and stop the run. On top of that we now have two of them. Pollard and Wilson are immense upgrades over Babineux, Johnson, and Alava.

-- Sammie Lee Hill gives us a big, space eating nose tackle to play next to Casey/Martin. Last year we had Sen'Derrick Marks on the field for 700 plays. That's horrible.

-- Last year Morgan and Wimbley play 80% of our snaps and were able to be worn down which faltered our pass rush. This season they will be fresh because they can rotate with Big Po and Ayers. Also, there is still a lot of talent in the draft on that DL and it wouldn't surprise me to see them take a guy in the 4th round.

-- Our offense will actually be able to sustain a drive. There were a lot of games that the defense started of decently and were forced to keep going back onto the field. They were gassed in the majority of 3rd quarters.

-- Greg Williams is reportedly in control of making our scheme whilst Grey calls the plays. This is the situation they worked with in Buffalo which led to some really good defenses. I expect we will be much more aggressive.

-- Ayers, Morgan, Martin, Brown, are McCarthy all still really young an have had limited NFL experience. They are all talented and can really be a force if they can take the next step in their development.
