Collins is pretty familiar with the Chargers having played them four times in two seasons.

Here's a look at his numbers:

    2004
    Away 24/39, 263 yards, 1 TD, 2 INTs, 68.6 rating
    Home 18/30, 227 yards, 2 TDs, 0 INTs, 105.8 rating

    2005
    Home 24/48, 292 yards, 0 TDs, 1 INT, 60.4 rating
    Away 22/40, 236 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT, 70.4 rating

Remember, the Chargers were towards the bottom of the league in pass defense last season. Collins was 0-4 in those games.

    Jeff....

That's collins in a nut shell right there. Not so good three games and then one great game. His average passing rating was 76 and he was even with 4 TDs and 4 ints which is not good for a vet QB..

Notice how he gets his yardage? Averages about 250 yards per start and 254 in those games. We won a boat load of games in which mcnair threw for 150 yards or less. Kerry collins and drew bledsoe are proof that throwing for a lot of yards doesn't win football games..

Come now, we would have won against KC (Volek: 29/43 426yds 4td 0int) and Oakland (Volek: 40/60 492yds 4td 1int) had our defence not given up 40+ points.

Collins should know the Chargers better than any D he'll face this season. Hopefully, Chow and Collins have worked together to discuss any weaknesses he's exploited in the past.

It appears the Raiders fell behind early in a lot of those loses which account to the high pass attempts and low passer rating. Collins needs Brown to be effective Sunday or it will be another long day.

Jeff you sound like gunny now...

Maybe collins' team was behind because he sucked for 3 quarters?

And believe it or not there are QBs who throw a lot of passes and don't have garbage passing ratings. Like manning? Green? Warner? Favre? Palmer?

Collins' poor passing rating is a reflection of how good he is. Not very!
