Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt doesn’t sound like a man who is long for Nashville.

Britt, who is in the final year of his contract, recently sent out a tweet saying: “Looks like the Titans pullin that Jared Cook card .. Looking like this the last year ill be sayin #TitanUp .. So lets make it a Great year.”

Cook, a tight end, played through the final year of his contract with the Titans last season before signing with St. Louis.

Britt was benched for a few plays in Sunday’s loss to Houston after a holding call and because coaches said they were tired of his lackadaisical approach to blocking. He has five catches for 43 yards through two games, and has also been called for two holding penalties.

“That’s two weeks in a row he’s had a holding call, so it was more to refocus him,” Titans coach Mike Munchak said Monday of the benching. “It cost us a 10-yard penalty on a 10-yard gain, and we can’t have that.”

Britt said Monday he hopes to become a bigger part of the offense as the season goes on.

“I’d love to be involved as much as they want me to be, as much as I’ve been in the past. But as the game rolls out, I am there when they need me,” Britt said. “I am not the coordinator and I am not the quarterback — they decide where the ball goes. I am still ready to go. It is a long season and we have a lot of games to go.”

No big loss. He's done nothing to earn a contract.

I think we all figured this would happen. Not too many of us expected him to be back unless he played well enough to be franchized.

On the bright side if it was hunter or preston trying to catch that slant it might have been a completion. Theyre both taller :p

Seriously, where does this guy get the balls to complain??? As if he's EVER done ANYTHING to justify a second contract. I mean, outside of a couple great halves sprinkled over the course of 5 years.

Don't let the door hit ya dip$*&#.

This guy has done nothing and then makes idiotic comments -- good riddance! Hope he's cut before the week is out or is inactive for this weekend's game. This team is playing well (in spite of Kenny) so let's make an example out of him -- Munchak has to make a statement that distractions won't fly.
