Blu Ray for da cheap?

    Yet the bandwidth required to simply broadcast uncompressed 720p or 1080i/p doesn't exist and the programming is even further behind.

    I don't see the Super/Ultra HD format becoming more than a technology demo format with fairly vertical source offerings for some time.

    Too many people have bought HD TVs already and don't even realize they are not automatically getting HD programming on them...any network or movie house that thinks even higher HD offerings are the next wave [and they are not] are dreaming.

    I got a blue ray player for christmas, the kind that will stream netflix...

    Put in planet earth on blue ray... it's unreal.
