So you're cool with being paper thin at RB? OK cool.

Julius Jones, Michael Robinson, Andre Brown, and Ian Johnson. I'd guess we'll sign one of those guys after week one.

How do you expect to sign any of them when they are all on a team?

    Well...

I think they knew there was a 50/50 they get to keep him but since he's a particular type of back and several teams wanted him as an undrafted guy after the draft, there was a fair chance he'd get claimed.

From the Titans point of view, they feel comfortable with Ringer as the #2. Blount hasn't been good enough to challenge that spot AND he's a major liability in pass blocking AND he's not good on special teams. Those factors equal inactive unless injury. So do we keep a guy on the 53 man roster who won't play unless CJ is injured and even if he is, is Blount gonna make a major contribution? Probably not. So do we take the chance he doesn't clear waivers for at least 1 guy who WILL be active and make a nice contribution on special teams knowing that is the weakest of the 3 units on the team?

Shaw can make an impact in every game on special teams. Blount likely never sees the field so they felt it was a gamble worth taking. And let's face it, we currently have the best RB in football and it'd be nice to have him be around for at least 5 years...so are we really worried we let a big time RB walk? We already have the best in the league...

I would make a similar move as you instantly upgrade your football team for this year and still have a 50/50 shot at keeping the investment in the RB. It didn't work out. Let's hope Shaw makes it worth our while!

Titans also had a waiver claim in on another player...from Detroit or Seattle (don't remember offhand) but they didn't get him.

You guys are acting like we're going to go with two runningbacks for the entire year because of this move. Almost like we're not allowed to make changes to the roster.

If we don't bring in a young guy in the next day or so we're going to sign a vet after week one so his salary isn't guaranteed for the season.

If CJ gets hurt we are dead in the water. I hope Blount does well and makes the Titans wish they hadnt cut him.

That was the case on Friday when Blount was here and it's still the case.

Jones took a pay cut and stayed with Seattle, Robinson signed with Seattle, Brown is with Denver and Johnson is on the Arizona practice squad.
