I think Werner could be the guy we take in the 1st....I just have a feeling, after rewatching his film. He is exactly what we need for an edge setting DE, he was productive and is disruptive on the line.I like his hands and his strength probably the most.

I dont like his combine numbers but so what

If we can trade back a little that would be great, he could last all the way to the Giants at 20.

    Werner is lame.

Numbers suck, tape is not impressive and combine was average.

Werner is the same player as Morgan. No point in taking him. He doesn't offer anything we don't already have.

That was my first thought on him, but Morgan is a severely underrated DE, might be good to have 2 Morgan's

draftcountdown.com mocks Werner to us. One of my more favorite draft sites.

What research? We have watched him for the past few seasons....

Hes either on the sidelines in casts and crutches with McCarthy or just being a distraction for the opposing offensive tackles. Hes not that great, certainly not worth the 1st round pick we gave for him, not even worth a 3rd imo. A good back up player, but not the premier pass rusher we thought we drafted.

Past few seasons don't matter, it's what he's done lately. He was one of the most impressive DEs the 2nd half of the season. From ProFootballFocus:

"Morgan was the easy choice. Unbeknownst to many, he used 2012 to show why he was selected in the first round, displaying an ability to harass quarterbacks that led to the third-highest Pass Rushing Productivity score of all 4-3 defensive ends."
