Just another set of reasons why I want him. I could understand that he is somewhat hyped considering he played for Alabama but this kid seems like the real deal.

Also, will he still be around in the 3rd or would we need to take him in the 2nd?

He's not physically imposing, so I'd risk waiting til the 3rd. Munchak can coach up players with size and strength, Jones isnt that guy, he's gonna succeed based on his Football IQ, I just dont see how Munchak helps him much. Therefor he's not worth our first two picks.

That's what I was looking for. I know he's coming off surgery so maybe that will help slide him to us in the 3rd. I think it would end up being a steal long-term.

Love the idea of landing Jones in the third. I pretty much select him in every mock I've done.

I'd pull the trigger with a third preferably the comp third but wouldn't complain either way. He is best suited at C since he is extremely smart, technically sound, but not a mauler.

Yea he's a young Kevin Mawae, exactly what we need.

Right now we have Velasco at Center LOL, how sad..

Velasco played pretty well I think he ended up as the 12th graded center last season and his first as a fulltime starter. I don't see him making any pro bowls but he is not a worry. He is only signed for a year currently though so Jones could get healthy this season and then step in.

Okay Velasco was one of the better Centers last year so I'm not sure why you think he's garbage. I also wouldn't be too thrilled spending a 3rd on a position where we already have a good starter. If Jones wants to play Guard that's fine and he can also be insurance in case Velasco moves on after this year but other than that I would go another direction.

We've been down this road before, I go against the popular opinion and claim so and so is trash, you the people fight me tooth and nail on this for a few months, then comes the season and so and so falls flat on his face.

Last time it was Eugene Amano, then it was LeRoy Harris, now it's Fernando Velasco.

I don't like being right about these things, but when I say a guy sucks, he sucks.
