    IMO EVH is making classical music for the modern age. I say people will be listening to EVH in 200 years.

    Wow, this is a tough one.......both were innovators of their day. Almost 50 years later and you can always find a Beatles song playing somewhere. Along with rock pioneers in the late 50's (Elvis, Berry, Holly, etc) their influence was huge. Lennon/McCartney lyrics are golden.

    As for musicianship, Van Halen wins. You can shoot me now, but I liked them better with Sammy.....a la Van Hagar.

    I'm voting Van Halen.
