    from my understanding it is 1080p movies that come ondemand.

    direct tv is doing actuall tv broadcast. not things off of a hard drive.

    How is Directv going to broadcast 1080p when no one is providing true 1080p. They can do on-demand stuff as much as they want, but no one is providing 1080p content for broadcast.

    A guy at work has U-verse and hates it. Says quality isn't that great.

    Best deal out there by far....Directv Private Office Viewing. I get the top line up, including all movie channels, reg. sports package, etc. for about $36 a month. Initial equipment cost is more though.

    i dont know how they are going to do it. but when i sold the stuff our sales and tech reps always were telling us that it was going to happen. when and how i dont know though.

    I think it is a marketing term. Maybe sending out 1080p, but it isn't really 1080p. Broadcasting it is a huge kettle of fish.
