Who considers someone they never met as their girlfriend?

And so if he did meet "her" then the hoax was elaborate enough they sent someone to meet him?

Notre Dames story is that he actually met some chick in 2009 once after the ND Stanford game and that chick was in on the dupe...

He was definitely in on it though... Your gf doesnt die and you don't go to the funeral...

It might be note worthy that if... Teo was hoaxed, the people responsible COULD be held accountable under the 2010 Truth in Caller ID Act. If this was a HUGE elaborate hoax, I'm sure they had to use phone spoof via text and calls to contact T'eo.

But no, I think Teo was in on it for whatever reason.

Lennay Kekua was a Stanford student and Cardinal football fan when the two exchanged glances, handshakes and phone numbers that fateful weekend three seasons ago.

"They started out as just friends," Brian Te'o said. "Every once in a while, she would travel to Hawaii, and that happened to be the time Manti was home, so he would meet with her there. But within the last year, they became a couple. "And we came to the realization that she could be our daughter-in-law. Sadly, it won't happen now."

SIAP, from a south bend new paper... This story is weird.

I said IMO. I believe he did that. Of course I don't have the absolute truth yet. There was definitely some deception going on from the teo family. Nobody can deny that.

Please explain to me how teo did not lie. Please tell me he was totally honest. And his father.

My apologies, you are welcome to your opinion. It sounded for a minute that you were claiming fact.

I never said he was totally honest. I tend to believe that he is a great kid who is extremely embarrassed that his girlfriend was someone he met online (who may not be real in the first place?)

To me it sounds like it was an embarrassing revelation that they tried to cover up in hopes to stay out of the spot light. But that is just my opinion.
