you don't think doing something like getting "The Chosen One" tattooed on his back contributes just a little? or posing for billboards that say "We are all witnesses"?

Lebron is not a victim of the hype, he creates a lot of it himself.

Are you over hyped when you average:

    Lebron...
    35.3 ppg
    7.3 assists
    10.9 rebounds

    52% FG
    33% 3 Pt FG
    2.5/1 Assist Ratio

    Michael Jordan....
    33.1 ppg
    6.4 assists
    5.7 rebounds

    49% FG
    33% 3 Pt FG
    1.8/1 Assist Ratio

You cannot overhype that. That is sick. Numbers you'd have to consider as one of the greatest set of numbers of all time. I mean you are talking numbers far sicker than Jordan could even imagine. This is Magic and Jordan combined. Rings not included. But still, dayum. Lebron is all that he is portrayed to be.

they lost 4-2. how sick is that?

kobe and jordan could go out every night and average 40 if they wanted to jack up 30 shots, but they didn't. they'd rather win the hardware.

When you play in the age you play now where anything is called he can put those numbers up.

Jordan played when they let teams play, where it got physical.

Barring injuries? You can BET on injuries. He's too big and fast not to have them, and as soon as his knee/leg problems start- he's finished. As soon as he slows down and can't just charge down the lane? What else is he going to do?
    Shoot jumpers? lol

Jordan and Magic combined have 10 rings.

    Lebron has none.

Jordan and Magic have CLUTCH moments. Lebron has 1. (1 shot that only amounted to Cleveland not being swept)

Magic and Jordan could score in multiple ways. Lebron? He can make layups and free-throws.

Just wait til he can't rely on his athletic ability alone. His career will fall off completely by time he's 30.

Jordon was on the losing end of a lot of playoff games before those rings.

If Lebron backed off, they wouldn't have even made the conference finals. He needs more help around him. His teammates aren't good enough.

    That's certainly true.

What I'm really saying is that he has no control over how much or little ESPN talks about him. Sure he influences but he doesn't make the decision on what they cover. And if Lebron was all-hype ESPN wouldn't cover him as much.

At worst, Lebron is what, top-5 in the league? And he's incredibly young so the potential for improvement is still there, as well as the question of how much he will accomplish in his career already being this good at his age. I think that adds to some of the media coverage regarding him.
