cj is a great blocker
Hes a solid pass blocker but hes not a great blocker
Let's not go overboard here
I dunno hes a lot better than most would think I remember his rookie and second season being very very impressed with his blitz pick ups
Thats the thing, blitz pick-up doesn't make him a great blocker, it makes him a complete RB, but not a great blocker.
By my definition, a great blocker can block at the line of scrimmage, and run block. All C.J. does well in the blocking department is blitz pick-up, thats a small part of blocking, but he does do that well for a 199lb guy.
well I cant really remember anytime where he was lined up on the o line and had to block. my bad didn't know I had to specify im only talking about the only kind of blocking he actually does
RB's end up blocking in the open field all the time, it's usually them out in front when a QB breaks loose, and every time C.J. has had to pull off run blocking he's sucked. So yes he's run blocked before, but no he's not any good at it, thus the reason I can't call him a "great blocker" like you're doing.
CJ is adequate as a pass blocker but nothing special. My problem with him is I wish he were more of a pass catcher and a guy Locker could dump the ball off to when the heat is on. CJ doesn't seem to have a good feel for it.
But the point on Parmele is he doesn't even appear adequate. And his running skills are so special you can live with that inadequacy IMO. I'd rather have Mooney.
Mooney has 1 gear, if it comes down to him running the ball, we're in trouble.
