How about the fact that Freeney has 8 sacks over the last 2 years (25 games played).

Jevon Kearse has 7 sacks over his last 2 years (just 16 games played)

freeney has way more qb pressures than kearse and thats while recieving much extra attention.

sacks arent the end all be all

No they aren't, but how many pressures did Freeney have versus Kearse?

i have been looking for that but cant find it. in 2006 when freeney supposedly had a horrible year he had 33 qb pressures. also last year i do believe i read that even though he missed much of the season he still finished with the most qb pressures on the team

    The fact that:

KVB has more sacks and tackles over a 3 year period.
    KVB is durable.
KVB has less chances for sacks because teams throw less against the Titans.
KVB plays better against the run.

Nothing against Freeney but KVB is better.

fact is that Freeney has been hurt, cut on and is gimpy and trying to work his way through an off season rehab program.

Freeney is a great pass rusher. But he has not been himself the last 2 years. There's no way to know if he'll ever make it back to what he was, if he'll stay hurt, or if teams have figured out how to contain him.

So if we are allowed to use this arguement shouldn't the addition of R. Colvin to the Texans as an edge rushing DE move them to the top of the list? Most of Y'all admit that Mario is a top flight DE and Colvin had 12 1/2 sacks in the last two season.

If it is only based on sacks the last two years.

Colvin 12.5 is better than Kears 7 or Freeney 8

No I don't expect him to have Freeney type respect but he is younger than Kearse and has been more productive lately.
