VY was sidelined with MCL (go figure) for much of that stretch..
16 games? No he could have played for the 2nd half of the year for sure but like I said we were winning and Bud Adams didn't care because he cares more about winning than VY. He was back practicing less than a month after his injury.. Bud didn't say anything before 09 because we went 13-3 and he was content with how we were playing without VY. It wasn't until we were 0-4 or 0-5 until he said put him in.
I had to sign up just to comment on this post. Toronto, you are obviously a knowledgeable fan, and I don't mean to attack you, but your anti-Vince bias is hilariously laid bare here in all its counterfactual glory. To say the Titans didn't look like a playoff team at any point in '09 is disingenuous: of course they didn't, they started 0-6! But with Vince they went 8-2 and DEFINITELY looked like a playoff team during that stretch. In fact, the media and ESPN were practically giddy at the prospect of an 0-6 team making the playoffs for the 1st time ever, and most were sure that no other playoff team wanted to face the Titans should they have gotten in last year.
And then to say that the only good effort in 2010 was the Collins-led Eagles game is such a joke. The Eagles dominated that game, only to fumble on the goalline and then give up an insane 4th Qtr to Kenny Britt (as Collins basically just threw it up to him and let Britt shine). But you pretend that was the pinnacle of 2010, and you discount excellent VY performances against Oakland, Dallas, New York and even Denver (where Fisher and bad luck killed the team, not Young). It's just transparent and false, and ultimately petty coming from an intelligent and informed poster such as yourself.
That is all.
When I gave the Trent Dilfer example, I wasn't praising him, the point was Collins, Dilfer, and these so called "game managers" are useless when not on a good all-around team.
these guys wanting to keeep Fish around
It's like telling the fanbase they approve of only winning in six out of seventeen seasons.
That those six game losing streaks in back to back seasons was a good thing.
So much for keeping options open at QB.
The Rusty "Rifle" era begins.
