Ha, ha! I own both War of the Worlds and Transformers 2... but only for the LFE.
Transformers 2 was the biggest turd ever.
The third one looks even worse.
The first one was actually okay.
Daniel Day Lewis is a true, old-school method actor who becomes the character he takes on. Denzel on the other hand, plays the same "Denzel" role each and every time, which is fine unless if you happen to find that character annoying - which I do..
I can't think of any role Denzel has pulled off that even gets him into the ballpark of DDL's work ala Gerry Conlon, John Proctor, Bill the Butcher etc..
I loathe Will Smith and simply find Orlando boring..
I am the biggest Transformers detester in the history of this site, but the 3D preview of the latest film looked insane. I hope they apply this type of 3D visual to the upcoming Godzilla flick to at least somewhat up for the gawdawful Matt Broderick debacle..
I know it's Hollywood, but I wish they didn't feel like they had to "replace" Megan Fox with another hot girl, forget the whole "boy saves world, boy gets girl" crap and just focus the third movie on the robots.
Even better they could actually make a Transformers movie.
Nothing like the show and toys I remember growing up.
Granted I was really young at that time but still loved it.
Sticking to the show's roots would not work on the big screen. Bay made Transformers more appealing to a general audience.
And Megan Fox made it appealing to a non-nerd audience.
I can say DDL played the "same" role in There Will Be Blood and Gangs of New York. Denzel owned the role in Training Day the same way DDL did as Bill the Butcher.
If you've seen Glory, Malcom X, Training Day, don't see how you weren't impressed.
Denzel generally acts like Denzel every movie. Even as X he was still... Denzel. In Training Day... still Denzel- just a little more angry.
I mean, he's great at playing Denzel Washington much like Morgan Freeman is at playing Morgan Freeman. He's no Forest Whitaker though.
