The Titans will no doubt sign Johnson, but it will no doubt mean cutting a couple of average familiar faces, if a couple of youngster play well tonite , the stage is set.

I'll happily sacrifice Justin Gage for Chris Johnson. Hell, I'd happily sacrifice Justin Gage if we can move his salary towards lower beer prices...

You mean Javon Haye might have to keep someone else's bench warm?

Jovan Haye or Justin Gage are on their way out if a major salary has to be cut. Haye makes $3M, and Gage makes $3.5M this year. Gage's contract runs out after 2011, Haye has another $3.7M owed if he's here in 2012. Cut them both, and actually get something for our money. I think Hawkins could be out too if we need to dump a chunk of our cap so we can get C.J. in. Between the 3 of them, we could save around $7.8M towards the 2011 cap. Now for Chris Hopes contract, he may be asked to take a lesser salary. Word around camp is he's playing better than in 2010, and is worth having. But his $6.5M isn't. Jordan Babineaux is playing well enough that we can afford to try and reduce Hopes pay.

Gage,Haye and Hawkins will gladly be sacrificed if it means clearing space for Chris Johnson.
