Yes, APC are wrist-slitters for sure...so is Adele...but the Beach Boys epitomize everything that is wrong with white people, and very few people deserve a nad-kicking more than Mike Love.

This one song destroys the entire catalog of the Beach Boys.

I just find it ******, that during the height of the Vietnam War, and the civil rights movement, this plastic cookie cutter band is going to float around like everything is all hunky doorie in the US.

    Completely frustrating time for music.

APC's second album "13th Step" is a masterful work of dynamics. I love how the opening track "The Package" starts with such quiet and meek guitar and rim sticks...then the bass comes in and rattles your damn walls down...then the bridge punches you right in the face and shoves your nose into your brain. I could never get that song loud enough in my car.

I don't see the issue of a little happy surf rock, even during wartime. Not all music during a bad time has to be somber and deep. There were plenty of rebellious tunes at that time, if that's what you seek. Edwin Starr for example.

They werent that cookie cutter. They were quite different than others in the surf Rock genre. They're only cookie cutter in hindsight because they're overplayed. A lot of stuff in the 50s and 60s was a lot more trite and silly than their music. They're a product of the surf scene, mixed with that era of Pop music.

They aren't something I jam out to in the car, but i don't have much complaint with them.

The Beach Boys got your grandma moist.

APC gets the hot bartender chick with a nose ring and neck tattoo moist.

You can't **** to Beach Boys
